Dr Ren Yi is a Principal Scientist and the Head of Energy Materials Department at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE). He received his B. Eng in Electrical and Computer Engineering from National University of Singapore, before obtaining his Ph. D in Engineering from NUS Graduate School for Integrative Sciences and Engineering in 2012. He is currently also the Deputy Technical Director of the òòò½ÍøBattery Consortium. Dr Ren has more than 10 years of experience in functional material and device innovation for applications in energy storage, electronics, catalysis and sensors. He has a keen interest in pushing the boundaries of battery research, in developing battery standards and in the translation of battery technologies.
