East Asia Science and Innovation Area Joint Research Program (e-ASIA JRP)
About the Grant
The East Asia Science and Innovation Area Joint Research Program, or e-ASIA JRP, is a multilateral international joint initiative between a number of public funding organizations of the East Asia Summit (EAS) member countries.
e-ASIA JRP works to formulate and support international joint research in the East Asian region, with the aims to develop a vibrant and collaborative research community in Science and Technology, to promote innovation in the East Asian region, and to contribute to the economic development in the region.
A joint call for proposals can be launched when Member Organizations of e-ASIA JRP from at least three different countries agree to participate. Research projects selected through these open calls will be supported by “Co-funding” modality.
Quantum of award is typically up to S$300,000 per project (inclusive of 30% indirect costs) over a period of 36 months.
The aim of the e-ASIA JRP 11th Call in the field of Alternative Energy is to invite applications for scientific ideas and technical solutions to address the green energy demands in Southeast Asia, solve related environmental issues, and help mitigate global climate changes. It is also anticipated that the technical solutions developed through projects supported in this grant call could contribute to the economical and societal advancement in the region.
The 3 research areas under the Alternative Energy field are as follow:
- Urban and biological wastes to energy, useful biochemicals, and biofuels
- New fuel cell science and technologies
- Alternative energies in the tropics and sub-tropics
