Mr Cheong Chee Hoo is the Chief Executive Officer of DSO National Laboratories (DSO), Singapore’s national defence research and development organisation with the critical mission to develop technologies to enhance the nation’s defence and national security capabilities.

Mr Cheong Chee Hoo joined DSO in 1993 after earning his bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the National University of òòò½Íø(NUS). He also holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the NUS.

Over the past three decades, he has dedicated his passion and career to defence technology and building up a wide range of engineering capabilities; from radar and satellite development to systems design and systems engineering.

Chee Hoo also chairs the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) Government-to-Government R&D collaborations with Germany, Italy and South Korea, and has charted the research direction of (Centrale) Supelec Onera NUS DSO Research Alliance (SONDRA), MINDEF’s only overseas joint research lab in France.

He serves on the boards of government agencies and tertiary institutes where he contributes to the strategic direction of science and technology at the national level.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to advanced radar systems, Chee Hoo was awarded the prestigious Defence Technology Prize Award in 2002 (Team) and 2006 (Individual). He was also awarded the Public Administration Medal (Gold) in 2020 for his dedicated service and contributions to the nation.
