A*Star IDL Story

A*STAR Infectious Diseases Labs (A*STAR IDL) was established in April 2021. Founded in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, A*STAR IDL brings together an interdisciplinary team of scientists whose strong expertise in infectious diseases could be quickly applied to the emerging challenges of SARS-CoV-2.
A*STAR IDL aims to be a global player in infectious diseases research and epidemic preparedness, bringing together scientists from all over the world into a thriving multidisciplinary research community. Led by Professor Lisa Ng, A*STAR IDL advocates an intensely collaborative environment, fostering partnerships between a growing network of industry, clinical, and public sector collaborators.
òòò½Íøis a key node within a globally connected scientific network, uniquely situating A*STAR IDL to tackle the challenges posed by modern infectious diseases preparedness. A*STAR IDL is actively recruiting investigators, post-docs, and PhD students from around the world, with training and funding opportunities available to drive cutting-edge translational infectious diseases research in Respiratory and Vector-borne diseases, Anti-microbial resistance and epidemic preparedness. Together, A*STAR IDL is well positioned to do excellent research, develop new and effective technologies for detection, intervention and prevention of new and emerging pathogens to deliver better health and economic outcomes.
