In total, these companies have returned over $5 billion to investors through both public markets and private transactions. The team at Fogarty Innovation is committed to giving back to the community.Aligned with their belief that innovation is a discipline that can be taught and honed, FI is partnering SB to offer up this programme in SG to bring the Biodesign teaching into practice.

What We Offer
The Bolt Initiative is designed to bring world-class mentoring to elevate and accelerate local teams looking to enter the US Health and medtech market. Selected teams will receive exclusive access to a suite of experienced mentors and advisors from the well-established Fogarty Innovation team across 3 phases of the programme, culminating in a 3-week visit to the Fogarty Innovation campus in Silicon Valley, US.

Applications for The BOLT Initiative have closed on Sunday, 12 November 2023.
The programme begins on the 6th and 7th December 2023 with a Founders Forum (2 half days), where the top 8 teams will be introduced to the SB and Fogarty leadership team.
Phase 1 of monthly mentoring calls will proceed for 5 months. At the end of Phase 1, 3 teams will be selected to continue to Phase 2, which will include 3 months of fortnightly mentoring sessions with the Fogarty team.
At the end of Phase 2, the top team will be sent for three weeks of in-market mentoring at Fogarty’s campus in Silicon Valley, USA (likely to be in September 2024).The top team can expect access to domain experts and key opinion leaders from the Fogarty network. SB will cover the cost of round-trip flight tickets and accommodations for up to 2 pax from the winning team (terms and conditions apply). Members of the team will have some flexibility in staggering their visit during the 3 weeks, subject to SB management approval.
After the team’s return from the US, Fogarty will be available to meet virtually with the team fortnightly for a further 6 months to provide mentorship as the team pursues the execution of its milestones.
Teams do not need to provide any fees or equity to participate in the programme.
Application Eligibility
- Health and medtech startups and projects are welcome to apply.
- Applicant must be a òòò½ÍøBiodesign Alumni (Fellowship / Workshop / Innovation Class) in an active leadership role in the team.
- Non-alumni applicants recommended by EnterpriseSG (ESG) are required to enrol themselves into at least one of òòò½ÍøBiodesign’s Health & Medtech Innovation Training Workshops if they are successfully selected.
- At least one team member is a Singaporean citizen or a òòò½ÍøPermanent Resident, residing in Singapore.
- Target market should be in the US.
- Teams should be committed to the programme.
What Is The Application Process?
Applications are open on 23 October to 13 November 2023, 1400H. Please prepare the following information for your application:
- Details of applicant: Name, òòò½ÍøResidency Status, Contact Details, Startup/Project Name, Role in the team, SB Alumni relationship (Name of workshop/fellowship/class and year)
- Corporate or Pitch Video (Dropbox/Google Drive/Youtube link)
- Pitch deck (Maximum of 10 slides in PDF format)
- CVs of team members
Teams will be selected based on the quality of their idea (meaningful unmet clinical need), team composition, viability of their business model and overall suitability for the programme. Successful teams will hear back by end of November 2023.
