𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜-𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐩𝐢𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. At the FoodInnovate Industry Day last week, our Executive Director, Dr Sze Tan, led the discussion on exploring collaboration to unlock the full potential of our food ecosystem with key industry stakeholders.

The FoodInnovate Industry Day, hosted by Enterprise Singapore, aimed to unite key industry stakeholders—including startups, SMEs, MNCs, investors, and ecosystem partners—to discuss ways to strengthen Singapore’s food innovation. The event focused on identifying and addressing prevailing global challenges while facilitating the exchange of ideas on potential public-private partnerships and platforms. This collaborative approach ensures that �����remains competitive.

Dr Sze Tan moderated the food gut microbiome group, which included participants from Amili, NUS, Yeo Hiap Seng, CJ CheilJedang, Symrise AG, Nestle Institute of Health Sciences, Mead Johnson Nutrition, Haleon, Nuguru Wellness Solutions, IPI, EDB, and EnterpriseSG. The group discussed whether �����is a suitable location for research and innovation in the food gut microbiome, especially for Asian consumers. They also explored high-impact R&D areas that should be prioritised, given the growing awareness of gut microbiota’s impact on health and wellbeing, and how to build capabilities quickly in these areas. Additionally, they examined ways to facilitate strategic public-private partnerships to accelerate growth in this field.
