SMART SYSTEM FRAMEWORK™ (SSF™)* (40 HOURS)

INTRODUCTION
The Smart System Framework (SSF) Programme is an interactive training course, using the SSF assessment tool to evaluate systems capability in a company, for phased digital solution planning in support of strategic business process improvement.
SSF’s Framework and tools were derived from research and development work to document small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) business processes. The SSF assessment tool covers more than 300 business functions/features that are representative of ‘standard’ industry business processes and best practices. The assessment tool and facilitated processes were created using a combination of SIMTech’s consulting expertise and strong customer projects experience (in conjunction with round tables participated by more than 100 participants across 10 industries).
Companies in manufacturing and businesses in services can benefit from the application of SSF assessment tools and facilitated processes. SSF can be applied to companies in Singapore’s logistics, marine, F&B services, food manufacturing, electronics, infrastructural services, precision, MedTech, and healthcare services.
About this Programme
The course consists of lectures, facilitated group exercises in the context of the company presentations and discussions during the training sessions. On-site company training and review sessions can also be performed at the participants’ company premises.
The course aims to help participants:
- Learn the SSF framework to “recognise” requirements for needs identification such as equipment, machines and computer-based systems (ERP, MES, CRM, PLM, BIM, EAM) to move the organisation towards Industry 4.0.
- Assess their manufacturing and or operational processes, current systems capability and develop plans for digital transformation and gain a head-start in developing their phased digital system adoption plan.
- Connect better with system provider and system integrator in terms of clarity of their desired work process, leveraging on system solutions, for a smooth and sustainable transition towards “Smart Factory”.
Objectives
The course aims to help participants learn a systematic way to define system solution requirements through a SIMTech-developed SSF framework, i.e. needs identification for equipment, machines and computer-based systems to move the organisation towards Industry 4.0.
This course benefits:
- Manufacturers and organisations who want to assess their operational processes-systems situation, system capabilities and develop plans for digital transformation; develop a system adoption plan, in phases.
- Businesses who know where they want to go in terms of digitalisation, but need to engage their managers and leaders through defining the processes that need to be digitalized, for ownership, and sustainable usage of the digital solutions adopted, so that the company’s efforts to transform the organisation towards “Smart Factory” or “Smart Businesses” is effective.
- Business owners who want to develop internal competencies for working with vendors and service providers, in scoping and overseeing the implementation and adoption of digital solutions.
Who Should Attend
- Business owners, CEOs, directors, senior managers, and professionals who are in the areas of supply chain management, planning, purchasing and sourcing, sales & marketing, IT, operation etc.
- Managers, heads of department or section leaders, engineers and supervisors tasked to look into improving the work process using digital system solutions.
